The wealthiest have made overnight millions, even billions in the cryptocurrency space.

For example, anyone that bought Bitcoin (BTC) for pennies before it rocketed to $20,000 can tell you that.  Granted, it’s not always easy to pin down the actual wealth of investors.  But there’s very little many have made a considerable fortune.

Wealthiest Investor No. 1 – Satoshi Nakamoto

In fact, one of the most shadowy figures in cryptocurrency is Satoshi. While very little is know about him, or them, we do know he’s quite wealthy.  For example, with nearly a million Bitcoins in possession, Satoshi was worth nearly $19.4 billion when the price of Bitcoin rallied to nearly $20,000.

That number may only climb as Bitcoin prices recover.

Wealthiest Investor No. 2 – Chris Larsen

In addition, Ripple co-founder, Chris Larsen just found his way onto Forbes’ 400 List.  With nearly $2.1 billion, he’s ranked 383rd of the wealthiest in the world.  Most of that comes from his possession of nearly 5.2 billion XRP tokens, and a 17% share of Ripple Labs.  Granted, his worth did drop a bit with Ripple’s fall from $3.50 to less than 30 cents.  But he’s likely to recoup much of the loss, as the coin shows signs of life.

Wealthiest Investor No. 3 – Joseph Lubin

Another one of the wealthiest investors, is the founder of blockchain platform Ethereum, In addition, Lubin is also behind ConsenSys, which helps launch or spin off cryptocurrencies around the world.  He’s estimated to be worth between $1 billion and $5 billion at the moment.

Wealthiest Investor No. 4 – Changpeng Zhao

Known as just “CZ,”, he founded the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, which now boasts more than 10 million users. Just for 2018, Binance expects a net profit of up to $1 billion for 2018.  In the first six months, it booked $300 million of revenue. It’s estimated CZ is worth $2.17 billion at the moment.

Wealthiest Investor No. 5 – Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss

In addition, it’s been claimed the brothers own about 1% of the world’s cryptocurrency supply.  If that’s the case, they are worth just over $1 billion.  With a big push into the cryptocurrency industry over the past two years, there is little doubt the brothers can amass even more.

In recent months, the twins-led Gemini finished launching the first fully audited and licensed stable coin on the market.

From here on out, the rich are only likely to get richer, as cryptocurrency is adopted.
