Over the past few years, Bitcoin caused an overwhelming amount of buzz in the world of blockchain and cryptocurrency. Crypto-enthusiasts from all over the world are investing their money in it, boosting the allure of digital currencies. However, when it comes to trading in Bitcoin, certain requirements should be fulfilled to ensure the security of your asset. One of these include the use of crypto wallets.
Below are four crypto wallets to consider:
No list would be complete without TREZOR, the first Bitcoin (BTC) hardware wallet. It’s a small, plastic device with an OLED screen and buttons. Additionally, you could opt for the more premium Model T, which has an LED touchscreen.
These wallets have a strong track record for security, and currently supports 14 coins plus ERC-20 tokens. Similarly, for Ethereum-based currency, TREZOR integrates directly with MyEtherWallet. This makes token exchange very convenient. It also partners with Dropbox for a convenient way to store your transaction data.
2. Ledger Nano S
Among these wallets, the second entry should not come as a surprise. Compared to the TREZOR, the Nano S has a more basic design – a thumb drive with a small screen – but is also a little more user-friendly.
The Nano’s setup is very quick and straightforward, and is software app, Ledger Live is equally easy to use. It supports a wide variety of coins including Stellar (XLM), Tron (TRX), and Monero (XMR), to name a few. It’s also the only hardware wallet to support Ripple (XRP).
The only drawback is that have to download a separate app for each coin you want to use. However, the limit is only 5 different coins at any given time.
3. CoolWallet S
The CoolWallet S is new to the scene. In fact, it is an example of the next wave of sleek designs transforming existing wallets. It’s the size of a credit card, and is also waterproof and bendable. It has a small calculator-type screen and a single button to confirm transactions or scroll through balances. It connects via Bluetooth to an Android or iPhone.
Aside from the CoolWallet app, there is nothing else to download. You are ready to begin trading. The next step will be inputting addresses for transactions, but once this is done, the CoolWallet will automatically track your assets and their balances.
However, currently it only supports 5 coins plus ERC-20 tokens.
KeepKey is another next-gen design in cryptocurrency wallets. It’s construction features solid aluminum, with a smartphone-size touchscreen. KeepKey directly integrates with the Electrum and Mycelium software wallets, as well as the exchange ShapeShift. KeepKey is extrodinarily intuitive, with an interface much like any smartphone. Many of its options are pre-programmed as well for ease of use, such as automated transaction fees. For those new to crypto this could be a big perk.
